When creating a new quartet of trombones Helios at the beginning of 2009, François CHAPUIS, William LEBOWSKI, Lionel LUTZ and Arnaud GEORGE are as a group whose mission to introduce their instruments to everyone.
Indeed these trombonists, held together by bonds of friendship, give this quartet a dynamic and sensitivity from diverse backgrounds.
The ensemble members have decided to show the trombone as an instrument for chamber music versatile. By fostering new arrangements and original repertoire, Helios extended the boundaries of chamber music, brass broadening its appeal to an audience still growing.
The quartet Helios crosses barriers of time: it performs a repertoire ranging from baroque to jazz to classical and contemporary styles and refuses to retreat into a unique style.
